WHY DO WE NEED WATCH GROUPS?
Police cannot combat crime on their own. People feel less fearful of crime if there is a good community spirit. Criminals feel uncomfortable committing crime in such areas as they are more likely to be noticed, reported and caught. By helping the Police you are helping yourself and the community in which you live. But watch schemes only work if there is a willingess of the business community to be involved.
HOW DO I JOIN A WATCH GROUP?
First, check to see if there is a group in your street/area using the map below. If there is no group in your area then CRIME SEEN! or the West Yorkshire Police can give you help and advice on how to start one.
