The Threat of IUU Fishing in Latin America and the Caribbean
InSight Crime and the Center for Latin American & Latino Studies at American University (CLALS) are holding a conference to discuss findings from our joint investigation on illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) Fishing in Latin America and the Caribbean. Panelists will also discuss the latest trends in IUU fishing, including perpetrators and adverse impacts across Costa Rica, Panama, Jamaica, Guyana, Suriname, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, and Ecuador.
The event takes place Friday, September 9, at 1 p.m. EST in the Butler Pavilion Board Room at American University’s campus in Washington, DC. Advance registration is required to attend in-person. The event will also be streamed on the CLALS Facebook page in English.
