Area Watch Groups
Wakefield City Watch
City Watch is a scheme always looking for new members. The scheme runs in Wakefield city centre to help combat business crime.
The system runs as a partnership between the Neighbourhood Policing Team and DCRS (Direct Communications Radio Services Ltd), and Wakefield Council's Urban Centres Management Team (UCM). The scheme is designed to cut business crime by enabling businesses to be in radio contact with each other, to quickly communicate information and raise awareness of potential problems, which can then be swiftly addressed.
The scheme provides many benefits to businesses in Wakefield city centre. These benefits include:
Radios linked to CCTV and many other businesses throughout the city centre
Regular meetings attended by staff from member businesses, Urban Centres Management, CCTV and the Police
Wakefield City Watch Meetings are held at the Chasley Hotel, Wakefield. City Watch members can view minutes from the last meeting and specific meeting dates by logging in and going to the Area Watch Update section.
